The Thin Blue Line Flag: This flag has different meanings within the law enforcement community. One meaning is as follows. The black lines represent all those mourning the death of an officer in the line of duty, the blue line represents law enforcement. Another interpretation of the thin blue line flag is the top black stripe represents the law abiding civilians, the bottom black stripe represents those breaking the law, the blue line in the middle represents law enforcement standing between the law abiding civilians and the criminals.

The Thin Red Line of Courage Flag: “The Thin Red Line of Courage” represents the last ounce of courage firefighters find deep in their blood to conquer their darkest fears in order to save and protect life and property. Designed and developed by the firefighters from the Apex Volunteer Fire Department in 1999.
