The Pledge of Allegiance:

Most if not all Americans have said the Pledge of Allegiance at least once in their life, with most of us reciting it every morning in grade school. Until recently, I have to admit, I never truly put much thought into its deep meaning, never really dissected it.

We memorized it as children because we were asked to. We stopped reciting after the 6th grade just as we were getting to an age where we might begin to truly understand it.  Time passes and as adults we rarely have the opportunity to recite it unless we are in government or other organizations that choose to make the pledge to start their meeting, for example: town council meetings, American Legion meetings, Republican/Democrat committee meetings, Boy/Girl scouts etc.

Even now as adults as we recite the pledge do we really take the time to truly understand it? I recently stumbled upon this clip from the Red Skelton Show and it opened my mind to the deeper meaning of the pledge. I am sharing it with you in hope that it will do the same for you.
