Arnold's Letter Home #3

Say Ma, Dad an Fam,

Another month gone.

I can hardly remember what month it is.

I got 2 packages today. My bag and cookies. The bag is just the right size and it locks too. The cookies got broken up in those cans believe it or not. But not bad, just in halves. Thank you very much. I'm glad the family is always thinking of me here, it really can help a lot. Some guys get letters from their parents once a month. I'm doing dam well on letters and everything. From the family, relatives and friends.

Boy right now it's about 7 pm and about 95 degrees. Hepatitis is a going disease here. So we were told the symptoms of it and how to try to keep from getting it. Ma, I wash as often as possible. O.K. Thanks for the Ivory soap. I can get plenty of soap at base camp now that it has a PX. I got some stationary there too.

Well, we go on another operation on about Nov. 5. This time I'll bring my stationary to write on operations. O.K. Archie wrote me a letter and I got that a couple days ago.Of course he gave me a few words of wisdom. But it was all true though.

I sent home a roll of film in a can. So don't take it out of the paper inside in the light. Did you get the hats yet? I'll be sending all the film home in cans so be careful opening them. I wouldn't want to ruin them after all I went through to take them. The first roll I took on operations. It shows part of a village and Vietnamese people. The next shots I'm gonna get will have Vietnamese cars.

Thanks for the book dad, and I'll be sure to save it. Now I'll know what kind of DH, the packages were dated the 24th. Today is the 28th, good time. Very good time.

I'll be going on R and R about the 15 of Nov. Don't know where yet though. Wherever it is I'll have a good time.

Randy hasn't written me yet and I don't have his address. He must have gotten mine. I'd like to keep in touch with him but if he doesn't write I can't very well do it.

Dad, I sure hope you punished Philip for drinking. You should make him stay in week nights so he will keep doing good in school. You will thank them for it in just a few years Philip.

Well, that's about it for now.

7 more months

Love,

Arnold

Ps.

I'm glad you liked the doll Audrey.

Keep up the good work in school kids.
